The Great Mouse Detective is a 1986 animated mystery film that follows the adventures of Basil of Baker Street, a brilliant mouse detective, and his trusted sidekick Dr. David Q. Dawson. The story takes place in a world where mice and other rodents are the dominant species, living alongside humans. When Professor Ratigan, a diabolical rat scientist, kidnaps renowned toy maker and inventor, J.S. Hudson, Basil and Dawson spring into action to rescue him. However, their investigation is soon complicated by the presence of a counterfeit coin, a fake version of the Golden Acorn award, and the sinister plans of Professor Ratigan.
