As the crew of the Deep Core oil rig receives a distress signal from the USS Montana, a state-of-the-art nuclear submarine, they are suddenly thrust into a mission to rescue the stranded sailors. Led by Virgil "Bud" Brigman, a seasoned diver and engineer, the team embarks on an unprecedented underwater journey to locate and recover the missing submarine. As they descend into the dark, icy depths of the ocean, the crew encounters an unexpected surprise: a stunning underwater vista, teeming with marine life. However, their wonder is short-lived, as they soon discover that the true nature of their mission is far more complex and sinister than they initially thought. Bud's team, including his estranged daughter Lindsey, must navigate treacherous underwater terrain, avoid treacherous submersibles, and confront an eerie, otherworldly presence lurking in the depths. As tensions rise and loyalties are tested, the crew begins to unravel a mystery surrounding the Montana's disappearance.
