Plot
Freak Out is a dark comedy that follows the misadventures of two well-meaning but misguided friends, Merv Doody and Onkey, who take an escaped mental patient, also known as "Eddie," under their wing. Their goal is to teach Eddie how to become a real serial killer, albeit with a twist: they're not trying to turn him into a ruthless murderer, but rather a bumbling amateur who will inevitably fail. The film's premise is built around the unlikely friendship between Merv and Onkey, two slackers who are more interested in causing chaos than actually achieving their goals. When they meet Eddie, who has escaped from a mental institution, they see an opportunity to play out a twisted game of mentorship. They take him under their wing, teaching him how to stalk, sneak around, and generally act like a serial killer – or at least, that's the plan.
